Terms for Enigma Desktop and AI access.
Enigma Desktop is proprietary software currently available free of charge when you connect your own supported AI provider. Enigma-managed AI is a separate, optional paid service that is coming soon. Its final prices and plan-specific terms will be shown before you subscribe. The headings below are the terms.
Enigma is independently developed and operated under the name “Studiocoder.” In these Terms, “Studiocoder,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the independent operator of Enigma.
1. License grant
Studiocoder grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Enigma on devices you own or control, for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. The software is licensed, not sold.
2. What you may not do
- Redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise make Enigma available to third parties, in whole or in part, including bundling it with other software.
- Modify, translate, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer the software, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the software.
- Use the software to violate the terms of any model provider or agent you connect to it.
3. Two ways to access AI
Bring your own provider. When you connect your own provider account or credential, your usage, billing and relationship are directly with that provider. Studiocoder does not sit in that billing path. Provider availability, output and data handling are governed by the provider's own terms.
Enigma-managed AI — coming soon. This optional service will provide managed model access and unified billing through Enigma. Underlying models will still be operated by third-party AI providers. The available models, prices and plan allowances may change and will be disclosed before purchase.
4. Managed AI subscriptions
When Enigma-managed AI becomes available, plans may be billed monthly, annually or according to measured usage, as shown at checkout. Recurring plans renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel future renewal before the next billing date; cancellation does not retroactively reverse charges already incurred.
Unused allowances do not roll over. Plans may include weekly and monthly usage limits. When an applicable limit is reached, managed AI access stops until the relevant allowance resets or you purchase another available plan or usage option. We will not charge an undisclosed overage.
Payments will be processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable. This no-refund rule does not limit any mandatory cancellation, refund or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
Service availability may vary because of maintenance, provider availability, legal restrictions, sanctions or export-control requirements. The service is intended to be offered globally where legally and operationally available; availability in every country is not guaranteed.
5. Your content and model requests
As between you and Studiocoder, you retain your rights in the code, prompts and other content you submit, and Studiocoder claims no ownership of them. AI output may not be unique, accurate or eligible for intellectual-property protection, and similar output may be produced for others.
In bring-your-own-provider mode, model requests are sent to the provider you configure and are not received by Studiocoder. For Enigma-managed AI, Enigma does not intend to store prompt content, selected file contents or model responses in its cloud. Requests will be transmitted to the selected AI provider for processing and may pass through limited service infrastructure needed to authenticate, route and enforce usage limits. Provider processing and retention are governed by the applicable provider arrangements and the managed-service privacy disclosures published before launch.
6. Third-party agents and acceptable use
Agent programs you install or host are separate services with their own terms, pricing and network behaviour. You must not use Enigma or Enigma-managed AI for unlawful activity, to violate another service's terms, to infringe rights, to distribute malware, or to bypass technical usage limits. We may suspend managed access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law or investigate material abuse.
7. Updates and service changes
Enigma may check for and offer to install updates. Updates are covered by these terms unless a new version is accompanied by different terms, in which case those apply to that version.
8. No warranty
Enigma is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. AI agents can and do make mistakes; you are responsible for reviewing what they change before you rely on it, and the permission controls exist for exactly that purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studiocoder will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profit or business, arising from your use of Enigma — including changes made to your files by an agent you directed.
10. Termination
The Desktop license ends automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using and delete all copies of the software. Ending a managed AI subscription stops future renewal but does not erase payment, tax, fraud-prevention or other records we must retain for legitimate business or legal reasons.
